"Nowadays, the opportunities to read and write short messages are increasing in various scenes such as in SNS as the popularity of smartphones increases. In such occasions, we rely on "vision" for input; using soft keyboards is common although voice input is partially used. In addition, we also use "vision" for output in reading received messages. In this study we explore a way not to rely on "vision" but "touch" both for input and output for exchanging short messages between nearby smartphone users. The proposed system is called H2BCom and the design and implementation of H2BCom with some preliminary evaluations is presented in this paper." |
"The spread of e-learning has given rise to a new problem of whether or not learners are concentrating on the study material. Many researchers have attempted to measure the concentration ratio by using many kinds of sensors such as heartbeat sensor, a brain waves sensor, and an image analysis. However, these sensors may not to be appropriate because the sensors themselves reduce the learner's concentration. In this study, we propose a method to determine the typing activities based on keyboard sound. Our first prototype uses an Android smartphone and the result of experiments shows that activity of web browsing can be detected to some extent." |
